Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula Wellness Center
The Community Hospital of the Monterey Bay Peninsula Wellness Center is part of a phased complex of roughly 9.5 acres. The first building constructed is a facility focusing on rehabilitation, therapy, training, and exercise studios. Additional buildings in the complex will include office spaces and other medical facilities.
The initial site planning and permitting phase included tree removal considerations, vehicular and pedestrian traffic circulation on site and its integration into the existing urban fabric, streetscape design, low impact landscape design strategies, and interior landscape spaces for facility guests. Achieving a LEED certification was also an initial project goal with the building eventually receiving LEED silver in 2011.
